In October, 6e4 BISS students participated in a ‘farm chat’ live with a farmer, Bob Casterton, in Iowa, USA. Using Skype, students got to tour the farm, see the machines used for farming and ride out into the fields to see the harvest. Bob answered lots of questions about the crops that he plants and harvests. BISS students worked independently to research farming in a country in Africa. Students are now working to compare and contrast their own research with what we learned during our Farm Chat. Many thanks to Bob for sharing his expertise with the class!
