School fees
At Le Gymnase, we are committed to providing high-quality education from kindergarten through to the final year of secondary school, in a stimulating environment, while ensuring full transparency regarding fees.
Annual Charge
The general principle of free education also applies to private schools operating under an association contract with the State. However, in accordance with Article R. 442-48 of the French Education Code, an Annual Charge may be required from families. This charge is intended to cover expenses that are not funded by the State, including religious education, chaplaincy services, the depreciation of buildings and equipment, and major repairs.
The Annual Charge does not include individual additional expenses such as school meals, extracurricular activities and cultural outings, school trips, student insurance, the purchase of books, and similar costs.
For all students, two additional items are added to the Annual Charge: supervision fees and membership of the Parents’ Association (API). Depending on the student’s grade level, other fees may also apply.
To ensure that financial considerations do not become an obstacle to education, a range of financial assistance programmes is available to families experiencing difficulties. These include both government support and, above all, assistance provided directly by the Gymnase. (Please refer to the “Financial Assistance” section on this page for further information.)
2026–2027 Annual Charge and Fees by Grade Level
Voluntary Donation
In addition to the mandatory annual charge, families who wish to do so may actively support the school’s activities by making a voluntary contribution toward the school’s educational mission and its unique character. This voluntary contribution provides strong support for the school’s educational policy and is an important sign of trust from families. However, it is not mandatory, and each family makes the choice, freely and in good conscience, to participate in this initiative.
The voluntary contribution constitutes a donation to a public interest organization and, as such, is eligible for a tax deduction. You may deduct 66% of the amount of your donation from your taxes, up to a limit of 20% of your net taxable income (subject to changes in the Finance Act).
For example, for a family with one child and taxable income of less than €40,000 per year, we suggest a voluntary contribution of €1,450, which amounts to less than €50 per month after the tax deduction.
Financial Aid
Le Gymnase recognizes that the financial burden can sometimes be heavy for families. Our school is particularly committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent students from attending school or participating in all the educational activities offered by the school. That is why, every year, Le Gymnase provides direct financial assistance to more than a hundred students.
Le Gymnase has established significant support and assistance programs totaling over €370,000 per year. This major effort, fully in line with our school’s values, is essential to support certain families facing financial hardship. A notice regarding this matter is sent to all families at the beginning of the school year.
For example, students who receive a state scholarship are eligible for an 80% reduction in the annual tuition fee.

FAQ
What is the difference between the annual charge and the voluntary contribution ?
The annual charge is the mandatory contribution paid by families. It helps cover expenses that are not funded by the State, including religious education, chaplaincy services, depreciation of buildings and equipment, as well as major repairs and maintenance work.
The voluntary contribution is an optional donation intended to support Le Gymnase educational mission and projects. It is eligible for a 66% tax deduction for individual taxpayers.
What are voluntary contributions used for ?
Voluntary contributions help fund projects that would not be possible without this support, such as classroom renovations, educational equipment, and innovative teaching initiatives. Without these contributions, Le Gymnase would not be able to fully maintain the current quality of its learning environment and educational conditions.
Can I change the amount of my voluntary contribution during the year ?
If you encounter financial difficulties during the year, you may adjust the amount of your voluntary contribution by submitting a simple written request. Any such changes are limited to the current tax year.
How do I know if my voluntary contribution is tax-deductible ?
To claim a tax deduction for the donation, you must be a taxpayer in France.
When will I be able to find out the final tuition fees for the following year ?
Application period opens between September & December for the following September intake, but fee information is only approved by our school board in April. Please refer to the current year’s annual charge as an estimate only; final scales will be confirmed in April/May at the time of the final (re)enrollment.
Can I change my meal plan during the school year ?
Meal plans are annual commitments and, except during the first two weeks of September, cannot normally be changed thereafter. However, in exceptional circumstances (such as a change in employment, separation, medical reasons, etc.), it is possible to request an exemption by providing the appropriate supporting documentation.
What is the purpose of membership in the school associations ?
We strongly encourage families to join the associations that support the life and activities of the school: the Parents’ Association (API) for all students, the Sports Association for middle and high school students, and the Alumni Association for high school students. Membership fees are modest and help fund educational and extracurricular activities.
Membership in these associations is entirely optional. Families who do not wish to join one or more associations may submit a written request. Any membership fees paid at the time of enrollment will then be refunded.
Please note, however, that families who choose not to join will not be eligible to benefit from the services provided by these associations or from any financial assistance they may offer.
I'm having trouble estimating the costs. Is there a cost simulator ?

There are two types of financial aid available to families enrolled in the international program:

- Financial aid specific to Le Gymnase : annual charge reductions, the Chapter Scholarship, internal solidarity funds, meal assistance, etc.
What does “company entry fee” mean ?
This fee applies to families whose tuition is covered by their employer.
If I enroll in the middle of the school year or leave in the middle of the school year, am I eligible for a tuition discount ?
Annual charge are payable pro rata based on the time sped in the school (any partial month is due). Please note that the pro-rata applies only on annual charge; optional or mandatory additional fees are flat-rate.
